An easy, 550m (approx 5 minute) hike-in style campsite via a gravel driveway and used ATV trail, beside Windermere Road (just past Brackenrig Rd on the way to Windermere Village) in beautiful Muskoka! Plenty of parking space for your vehicle and/or boat at the trail head. Only 5 minutes to the Village of Windermere/Windermere House Resort and 15 minutes from Port Carling, Muskoka. Very quiet site with no other people, campsites or cottages next door! NOTE: This look-out is NOT for small children or sleep walkers due to the cliff! Pets friendly but please keep them in sight! The campsite is on a large granite rocky outcropping surrounded by 180 degree view of Three Mile Lake, Pine and Oak Tree Forests! This cliff-top campsite is 45m above Three Mile Lake, facing East for spectacular morning sunrises! You can see for many kilometres Eastward and watch the wildlife, boats on the lake and the various cottages dotting the shoreline. This makes for a beautiful view at night as well with the twinkling cottage lights and campfires dotting the shorel Various locations around the lake give you public access for your canoe or boat. Looking for a nearby pub or restaurant? Windermere House Resort and their Pub are a great place for a meal and or refreshing beer while overlooking Lake Rosseau. A public beach is also located at Windermere House with a beautiful hard-packed sand beach, docks and raft to swim too with safety buoy-lines! The Town of Bracebridge is a scenic 30 minute one-way drive and the Town of Huntsville is only 35km one-way drive. This lake has great fishing too! Keep in mind, during dry seasons, the Fire Permit System is in effect so if dry conditions prevail, a fire is illegal and enforced by local by-law and Ministry of Natural Resources & Forests officials. The site has room for any tent and includes a fire-pit and picnic table and a few outdoor chairs. The view can best be described as - SPECTACULAR and two couples have exchanged their wedding vows/ceremonies on this site!
